Amechi Orders Winners’ Chapel School demolition

Amaechi, orders demolition of Winners’ Chapel School
The Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi, has ordered the demolition of a two-storey school building, Kingdom Heritage School, belonging to the Living Faith Church, a.k.a Winners’ Chapel located along Igboukwu Street in D-Line Area of Portharcourt.
The governor gave the order while inspecting the Joseph Yobo mini stadium located opposite the building on the same street, said the builders did not make provision for a parking lot which had caused traffic up in the area.
Governor Amaechi, who ordered arrested the site engineer, told the labourers to vacate the site immediately and told the handlers to demolish the school building.
According to him, “The building is too close to the road. How can you build such a structure opposite a stadium and disrupt movement of cars and persons?”
The governor’s order was carried out to the letter as bulldozers arrived on Sunday afternoon and operated till Monday, reducing the building to rubble.
It was also learnt that the site engineer had since regained his freedom following intervention by officials of the church.
